A symbol of sorrow and muse for many artists, the Pierrot is the melancholy, romantic, and perpetually alone character from 17th century Italian and French operas. Porcelain Pierrot plays on this history and the classic, breakable porcelain figurine to create a new heirloom; a prop from a past show turned into a precious relic. Miming this sadness in the documentation of the piece on the body was important to highlight the contrast between the hard porcelain on soft skin, and memorialize a moment that may never happen again.
